(He's working on giving a shit selectively: he can no longer give a shit about every monster and every wronged or well-meaning human in Ryslig, and he's trying out only giving a shit about the people who give a shit about him, especially when it isn't easy. At least, that's the goal. Horatio's firmly in the give a shit category, though.)
