But the way Komaeda keeps bringing up the matter of how Ryou and Atem had come to date each other, something about it rubs Ryou the wrong way. It gets his fur prickling again. He bows his head, to hide his expression, and tries to keep his ears from slicking back as best he can.

But he is affronted by the thin implication that he's probably reading too much into, that Komaeda will never be satisfied with Ryou's presence, because he'd stolen Atem.

I think what you're saying makes sense though, Komaeda. Wanting something, it's not the same as making it happen. But if you want it, know that I accept it, and I cannot speak for Atem, but if Hinata or Lila would like to speak to me on the matter, then I'll do what I can to ease as much of the difficulties as possible.
