[It's pretty sad how Ryou will wheel himself in circles trying to sort out a rationale as to why someone would want to be this close to him. Even when the interest is dead-center.

Even when his boyfriend becomes aroused enough to become alarmed at his own snake anatomy.

...Though actually, in that particular instance, Ryou had immediately attempted to alleviate Atem's stress. Even his interest was put aside. He's just like that. Now though, it's different. He's not sure if the cookies are giving him a sugar rush or he's just been thoroughly affected by Atem's admissions, but he's definitely the aggressor in this kiss. Aggressor, however, is a strong word to be using. The way he draws closer, leans in and almost forces Atem back is aggressive, but the noises he's making are soft, and the way he accepts the invitation to deepen the kiss is still somehow gentle and exploratory.

Atem's...honestly baited him, he's sure of it. That's why Ryou's hand was gliding up one of his thighs, why he won't pull away from the kiss even though this is the kitchen, this is where food is made! Honestly!

He should stop. He...should definitely stop, right?]

[Well, isn't this a rarity.

Atem doesn't mind taking charge, not in the least, especially when it earns him sounds like Ryou's making right now. But it's not often Ryou leans in to do what he wants. Not with this kind of energy. Atem breathes out a sigh that makes his chest buzz louder, as that hand goes up his thigh; it's a clearly approving sound, and he shifts his body closer to the edge of the countertop, so that more of him can be in contact with more of Ryou.

He really likes that touch. He likes the sounds Ryou's making. This isn't a slow melting of metal in his heart, not this time -- now, it feels like his skin is flashpaper, like his blood is gunpowder, and everything's lighting up at once.

When the kiss breaks for air, Atem takes hold of the side of Ryou's face with one hand, sliding fingers up his temple into his hair, short of breath.]

Go on.

[It's literally a purr.]

[It's honestly ridiculous how much the purring affects Ryou. It's cute, sure! But it's also a representation of Atem's contentment, his approval of this situation, and Ryou definitely craves that. While that one hand remains on Atem's thigh, his other settles at the small of Atem's back, making sure that the distance between them isn't just closed, but inescapable.

When they finally break apart, he's breathless and flushed. His ears are angled downward, and his eyes seem to glow more brightly than they have in a while. Any negative emotion that had been trying to claw its way out of his subconscious has been forced back.

This moment is all that matters, and it has him shuddering a little in anticipation.]

Mmh...we...probably should go back.

[His head tilts, leaning into Atem's touch, and there's a small smile that's not quite coy, but not completely innocent either.]

...I'm not sure I'm tired though.

[Ryou hadn't expected this to go anywhere from such an offhand comment about how they couldn't do anything overly romantic together. He can't blame it on Atem for starting it. But he wholly expects Atem to finish it. Maybe that's selfish?

Maybe...but Ryou's clearly excited. That kiss expressed more raw, positive emotion in probably a minute than he'd shown in days.]

[He leans forward, doing the mist-trick again -- his legs turn to mist, almost like he's standing up on nothing, so he can hover at whatever height he wants -- and nudges Ryou backwards, one hand in his hair, the other on his shoulder, back towards Atem's room. It takes a lot of focus to maintain this trick, so the kisses he plants on Ryou's mouth and cheek and jaw are shallow, but it's worth it. Each one nudges him back a little further!]

[That's a neat trick, one that brings them eye to eye without Atem having to sit on a counter, so Ryou appreciates it vaguely. Mostly though, he appreciates the fact that they're moving. He steps back, lets Atem guide him easily. He reaches a hand up briefly, to gently stroke Atem's cheek and then toy with his bangs a little, just because he can. Just because they don't have anything else to do, finally...

It takes them a little while, maybe longer than Atem could keep his legs as mist? But if that's the case, then Ryou will carry him, unrepentantly. He is seven whole feet tall and his arms are huge, you think he can't carry his boyfriend?

Either way, once they're back in the room, Ryou wastes absolutely no time. He takes a seat on the edge of the bed, then settles back--a clear invitation for Atem to make himself comfortable in whichever way he likes. Come on, come on, quick! Before something else happens...]

[He does run out of stamina to keep it up partway there, but he'll take being held up, that's fine.

Once they're inside, though, Atem has one last mist-trick.

One of his hands disappears. A thin tendril of mist stretches out toward the door, and a couple of disembodied fingers push it very firmly shut.]
